Yarmouth police investigating the death of a 2-month-old infant…
FROM THE YPD: INFANT SUCCOMBS
On Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at approximately 6:55AM, the Yarmouth Police Department Emergency 911 Center received a 911 call reporting that a 2 month old baby is not breathing, not conscious, and CPR was started.
Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers were immediately dispatched to the home in West Yarmouth, entered the residence, and found a woman performing CPR on the living room floor to an infant.
Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers took over and provided two person Rescue CPR.
Yarmouth Firefighters arrived and immediately transported the infant to the Emergency Center at Cape Cod Hospital.
Despite all efforts, the infant was unable to be revived and has died.
Yarmouth Police Detectives and members of the Massachusetts State Police Detective Division are conducting a follow-up investigation.
The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families was also notified.
There will be no further information released by the Yarmouth Police Department.
