YARMOUTH STANDOFF: Severely beaten woman had face sliced up… SWAT evacuated neighbors before forcing entry… [HN VIDEO]
YARMOUTH – Witnesses say their new neighbor was beaten beyond recognition this afternoon.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, one neighbor noticed the woman’s swollen face and that her cheeks had been sliced up, deciding to step in and take action. He took the battered victim by the arm and brought her to a neighboring home before calling police.
The suspected batterer reportedly then barricaded himself inside 26 Seaview Ave.
HN was off duty and began receiving messages that something was happening in Yarmouth. That the SWAT team and police vehicles were seen rolling down Route 28.
HN arrived shortly after the suspect had been driven from the scene in an ambulance, with a Yarmouth Police squad car following closely behind…
Some neighbors described an alarming scene where families were asked to evacuate their homes for their own safety. Seaview Ave needed to be completely shut down in the area of number 26 and nobody was allowed to enter the immediate vicinity.
Little children and families were just beginning to return to their normal Sunday outdoor activities when HN arrived on scene, shortly after the suspect had been taken away in an ambulance.
Police sources on scene expect that their department will put out a full press statement as soon as possible. No further details were available at the time of this report.

YARMOUTH POLICE ARREST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUSPECT
On Sunday, June 3, 2017 at 1:47PM, Yarmouth Police Officers were dispatched to a home on Seaview Avenue in South Yarmouth for a report of domestic violence.
Yarmouth Police Officers were able to locate the victim who was severely injured and members of the Yarmouth Fire Department were able to bring the victim to Cape Cod Hospital suffering from numerous violent injuries.
The suspect was inside the home and armed.
The Cape Cod Regional Special Weapons and Tactics Unit was called in and made a tactical entry which included the use of a Yarmouth Police Department K9 Unit that located the suspect hiding in a bedroom.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Cape Cod Hospital suffering from an apparent self-induced drug overdose.
The suspect—who was out on probation and has 25 prior charges in Massachusetts–is currently in custody on numerous violent felony crimes and being treated at Cape Cod Hospital.
Because of a change in the Massachusetts Domestic Violence Laws in 2014, the police are not allowed to provide any additional details regarding the name of the suspect, the charges, and location of the incident.
