YPD: Please be vigilant…
YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police report observing a vehicle belonging to a local sex offender parked at a local park. According to the YPD, their PAC Unit commander spotted the vehicle at the Chase Garden Park on Route 28 sometime this morning.
They took the above photo and are asking the public to be vigilant… (The lettering in the photo was added by HN…)
The bus is used and lived in by a legally registered Level 3 Sex Offender, police say.
John J. Stangle is registered as a Level 3 Sex Offender in Hyannis, but is known to sometimes travel all over Cape Cod in his modified school bus.
Stangl is NOT currently wanted by police…
According to the Sex Offender Registry Board, Level 3 Sex Offenders are determined to be at “high risk to reoffend and that the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a substantial public safety interest is served by active community notification.”
John J. Stangl was born January 28, 1949. He is a white male, 6 feet tall and weighing 300 pounds. His eye color is Hazel. His hair color is brown.
Stangl was convicted of Open and Gross Lewdness and Lascivious Behavior “x4” on October 8, 2008.
He is currently registered as being homeless in the Hyannis area.
