VIDEO: 18-wheeler hung up on snowbank… rotary traffic redirected…
HYANNIS – A truck driver from Baltimore got his rig hung up on a snowbank turning onto Route 28 near the Airport Rotary at about 4pm today. He was unfamiliar with local traffic patterns and couldn’t take the turn as wide as he wanted to, due to an oncoming vehicle turning onto 28 from the rotary.
The truck driver mentioned they had snow in Baltimore, but nothing like the amounts he has seen here. He normally would have made that turn somehow, if it wasn’t for the large encroaching snowbanks making the streets much more narrow than usual.
HN NOTE: The trucker said he owned the truck and that he had made a deal with his dad in order to finance it. The truck’s cab is like the inside of a comfortable motorhome, with an area for sleeping and another for dining…
The following video highlights the disabled truck, first responders, traffic, and tow truck operators getting the trucker back on track… It took about half an hour to get traffic flowing normally again… [Press play… Select HD from the settings and enlarge player for best quality…]
