A DAY IN HN PHOTOS: Alcohol abuse to unattended dead body found in hotel room…

FIRST TWO HN PHOTOS FROM TODAY’S NEWS BRIEFS:
HYANNIS – [Above photo – developing] – Police and firefighters responded to a report of an unresponsive male discovered in a room at the Best Western Hotel on Route 132 this afternoon.
The first patrol officers on scene quickly reported the male was deceased and unattended. A Barnstable Police detective also responded to investigate.
It’s uncertain what the circumstances were and no further details were available at the time of this report. HN will provide updates as they become available.

HYANNIS – Members of the Barnstable Police bicycle squad responded to a Sea Street area law office during the lunch hour after receiving a call that some unknown a man had just stumbled into that office…
… and then fell down due to obvious issues with gravity.
It turns out the man was hammered and was admittedly looking for a detox facility.
Hyannis Rescue responded to assist the inebriated gentleman.

CENTERVILLE – Police and COMM firefighters responded to an address on Lakeside Drive West earlier today for a report of a fire in an air conditioning unit…
… and it’s a good thing they did, because things were just starting to get heated up.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, according to radio transmissions, and the homeowner was notified.

HYANNIS – An employee at the Kalmus Beach Snack Bar on Ocean Street became uncomfortable with a suspicious female lurking about inside.
A Barnstable Patrolwoman responded and it turns out the female was suffering from mental health issues. Hyannis Rescue also responded to assist the female.
…………
ALSO…
… later in the afternoon, police returned to Ocean Street after a man was discovered down and unresponsive on the sidewalk in the area of the Yachtsmen Condominiums.
The man, obviously overcome by vicious gravitational forces, was intoxicated and taken into protective custody by the Barnstable Police.
HN NOTE: Now that it’s officially “summertime” in Hyannis, it’s important for everyone to pitch in and keep an eye open for our “outpatients” roaming about our downtown streets and neighborhoods.
Without your help, certain Hytown “outpatients” would go unnoticed when they suddenly become afflicted by their intolerance to powerful gravitational forces.
Today’s outpatients were lucky in that they were noticed and received the help they needed.
Not all outpatients are that fortunate, some become stricken in less conspicuous places, such as wooded lots or shrubbery.
But with your help, officials will be alerted and able to find these stricken outpatients… getting them the timely help they need so our downtown outpatient industries will survive, flourish, and prosper.
Why? Because that’s what all good Hytonians do, that’s why.
We must all do what we can, dammit!
