HYANNIS – Cops say they had to taser a suspect who allegedly slammed a bathroom window on a detective during a drug raid earlier in the week…
The following is the actual Barnstable Police press statement:
On Wednesday May 18th Barnstable Police Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at 71 Main St Apt. 9 in Hyannis. The search warrant was the result of a month long investigation by Detective Brian Guiney for cocaine distribution by 45 year old Wesley Paul Garcia.
Upon execution of the search warrant at approximately 4pm, officers knocked and announced their presence at the apartment. Through a small open window, detectives then observed 33 year old Leon Domino run into the apartment bathroom holding powder filled baggies and flush the narcotics contraband down the toilet. Leon Domino then slammed the open bathroom window on the arm of one of the drug detectives who had been ordering him to show his hands. The detective was able to open the window and taser Leon Domino as the other detectives were breaching the apartment door and making entry. After a search, Barnstable detectives were able to locate 10 grams of crack cocaine next to a digital scale. In addition, detectives seized approximately $3600 and other drug paraphernalia used in the distribution of illegal narcotics.
Leon Domino was charged with Possession of Class B Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Laws, and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.
The other occupants of the apartment, including Wesley Paul Garcia of Hyannis, 33 year old Marvin Domino of East Falmouth, 26 year old Romeo Domino of Hyannis and 24 year old Bruce Owens of Hyannis were all charged with Possession of Class B Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Laws.
All of the suspects were arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Thursday May 19th. Leon Domino’s bail was set at $1000, Wesley Paul Garcia’s bail was set at $500 and the other suspects were released on personal recognizance.
