BREAKING – HN VIDEO – Another pedestrian struck on South Street… 28-year-old male seriously injured… Barnstable police reconstructing the scene…
HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – Yet another pedestrian is fighting for his life this evening after being struck and seriously injured on South Street – just one month after an 88-year-old man was found in critical condition after being struck… (This is the 3rd pedestrian struck and seriously injured on South Street within the past month.)
At about 4:00 PM, police and rescue rushed to the intersection of South Street and High School Road where they found the victim suffering from serious trauma…
According to Captain Kristofferson of the Hyannis Fire Department, the victim was a 28-year-old male. He was immediately transported to Cape Cod Hospital with “trauma one” injuries which were considered life-threatening.
A SUV with a heavily damaged windshield was investigated and towed from the scene.
One source told HN the pedestrian was trying to cross the street when a vehicle in the first lane stopped… but a driver in the second lane was unable to stop in time… [DEVELOPING DETAILS]
