ARMED HOME INVASION/ROBBERY: Man stabbed… possibly over narcotics… arrest made… investigation active and ongoing… [VIDEO FROM SCENE]
CENTERVILLE – [DETAILS ARE STILL DEVELOPING] – As you will hear in the following video, at about 10:50PM last evening, Barnstable Police responded to 45 Oreo Lane after receiving a frantic call from a female reporting a masked man with a gun just tried to rob her boyfriend.
While responding to the call, officers learned the assault may have been related to narcotics.
When HN arrived, police were actively securing the scene and searching for clues. A man had been stabbed, possibly more than once. COMM Rescue responded and the stabbing victim was able to walk up into the ambulance. He was transported to CCH, along with a Barnstable Police Patrolman.
(According to one unofficial source, the man was later taken into police custody after being treated at CCH.)
The stabbing victim’s girlfriend who had called police after fleeing 45 Oreo Lane to the safety of a neighbor’s house, was apparently terror-stricken and unable to hold back tears.
A Barnstable Police Detective and Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigator were called to the scene. The property was searched and evidence collected… a vehicle was also towed from the scene.
According to a source, the victim of the attack may have been involved in dealing a significant amount of narcotics… but that information has yet to be officially confirmed by police.
Police were still investigating and conducting interviews at the time of this report.
