*** WATCH *** BARNSTABLE HIGH SCHOOLERS CRASH DURING GAME OF “SENIOR ASSASSIN,” SOURCES SAY
CENTERVILLE, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – At around 11:36 p.m. Friday evening – 4/5/2025 – Barnstable Police and Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Firefighters responded to a crash on Craigville Beach Road near the intersection of Lake Elizabeth Drive. There were reported injuries.
When HN arrived on scene, a police officer was speaking with the driver of a vehicle that was not damaged… but somehow involved. The driver appeared to be a teenage male who seemed to be agitated and upset.
Further down the road, there was an inoperable KIA SUV with significant passenger-side damage. (See top photo…) HN also immediately observed two individuals (a male and a female) who appeared to be high school age teenagers standing with firefighters about 50 feet away from the crashed KIA. Both appeared upset and worried.
Two passengers involved in the crash would end up being transported to Cape Cod Hospital with priority-three, non-life-threatening injuries, according to first responders.
An adult male eventually arrived in an uninvolved vehicle. He appeared to be very concerned while speaking with first responders and could have possibly been a parent of one of the teens involved in the crash.
According to sources, the crash involved Barnstable High School students who were playing a game called “senior assassin.” According to online sources, “Senior Assassin” is a game played by high school seniors where participants use water guns to “eliminate” their assigned targets. The game has a history of raising “concerns due to potential safety issues and misinterpretations by the public, leading to warnings from law enforcement and school officials,” according to an online source. The game also has a history of sometimes causing unsafe behaviors, including reckless driving and/or dangerous chases.
Although Friday evening’s crash did not cause life-threatening injuries, a utility pole was snapped and needed to be repaired, requiring the hiring of two police detail officers, according to police radio transmissions. Electrical generators could be heard coming from a nearby property, suggesting a possible power outage in the vicinity.
HN learned that the proper Barnstable High School officials would definitely be informed about the crash.
The following HN Video highlights the crash scene. HN will provide official details and updates as they become available.
