BLOOD TRAIL: Man walked into CCH with serious stab wounds from encounter on Main Street…
HYANNIS – A man tried to break up some type of domestic altercation between a male and a female in the area of 156 Main Street. Despite his good intentions, he was stabbed.
The stabbing victim then walked about three blocks to the CCH emergency room. Police were then quickly notified by hospital staff at about 9:10PM last evening.
The victim’s stab wounds were described as “significant” and additional police personnel became involved. Patrol supervisors and a detective responded to CCH while other officers searched the route the victim had taken to find help. Officers followed and photographed a fresh trail of blood while searching for other evidence.
The suspect is described as a “light skin” black male in his early 20s. He reportedly had a thin build and was wearing a blue t-shirt at the time of the attack.
The victim was reportedly in surgery at the time of this report. His injuries were serious and repairs needed to be made. He reportedly had some degree of internal injuries which were exposed and hanging out when he arrived at CCH. His surgery was expected to last hours.
Serious stab wounds are usually considered life threatening, especially when there are internal injuries. One source who was at the hospital indicated it would be difficult tell if the man’s injuries are life threatening at this time.
