Hyannis – At about 12:30pm, an injured man walked into the lobby of the Hyannis Transportation Center after being struck in the face and robbed.
A folding pocket knife is said to have been shown during the robbery, which occurred in the area of Pufferbellies…
The victim’s credit card had been stolen…
The victim had facial injuries and was reportedly bleeding. Hyannis rescue responded and transported the victim to CCH. Police determined his injuries were not the result of a stabbing…
Police swarmed the area looking for a white male in his 20s, wearing black overalls, long brown hair, approximately six feet tall, and skinny. The suspect’s first name was Adam…
Officers sought information at all the local homeless hangouts…
Within a half hour, in front of 156 Main Street, police stopped a man named Adam McAllister who fit the description. (See top photo…)
Patrolman Rob Bitinas photographed the suspect and returned to Cape Cod Hospital to show the victim.
Adam McAllister, age 30, of 181 North Street in Hyannis, was arrested and transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters where he was charged with Armed Robbery. McAllister is also charged with Larceny of a credit card and is being held in Protective Custody for being intoxicated…

Hyannis — Barnstable Patrolwoman Meaghan Cunningham responded to the parking lot behind Saint Francis Xavier Church after a good Samaritan spotted a gun behind a dilapidated fence.
The small revolver was corroded and no longer able to function. Cunningham secured the weapon…
Due to the revolver’s condition, it was unlikely used in any recent crimes.

Hyannis — Officers responded to Cape Crossroads on Bearses Way yesterday after a small group reportedly gave a Davis Towing truck operator a hard time while he was trying to remove a vehicle.
One of the angry men in the group reportedly was brandishing what was described as a pickax… it actually turned out to be a crowbar… either way, the driver didn’t feel safe.
Police arrived and kept the peace… and the tow truck driver was able to finish doing his job.
In other news:
Hyannis — Police entered a home in the West Main Street area after receiving a tip that adults were inside shooting up heroin with three small children present.
At first the individuals inside would not answer the door… and the conditions inside the house were initially described as “deplorable.”
But after finally entering the home police did not find evidence of heroin use… and the home’s condition, although not spotless, did not warrant immediate police action.
Two separate surprised neighbors told Hyannis News they have not seen or suspected drug use at that particular residence…
The Department of Children and Families was notified and the incident remains under investigation.
