BREAKING: Detectives raid Hyannis hotel room…

HYANNIS – Just one day after Hyannis Rescue and multiple police units responded to some type of intravenous drug overdose, Barnstable Police Detectives and SCU members returned and raided a room at the Rodeway Inn on Route 132.
It’s still uncertain whether the raid was related to the overdose which occurred the previous early morning…
At about 5:45pm, detectives may have needed to force their way into room number 122 at the Rodeway… The door jam was damaged and appeared as though it may have been kicked or knocked in.

At least one woman was walked from the building in handcuffs.
Detectives conducted a search. A box and other items were seized as evidence. Detectives also appeared to have searched vehicles in the parking lot…
Tonight’s raid comes at a time when law enforcement agencies across the Cape are stepping up efforts to curb what has been described as a worsening ‘heroin epidemic.’ It’s still too early to tell whether tonight’s police raid is related to the ongoing fight against dangerous drugs.
Stay tuned, detectives are still busy working the case and HN will release additional information as it becomes available.
