The latest press statement from the Cape & Islands DA:
Cape & Island’s District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Barnstable Police Chief Paul MacDonald announced today the arrest of Kyle Jeffrey Walker of South Yarmouth, age 24 and Keven Seme of Brockton, age 19 in the shooting death of David Anthony Colon, age 19.
Both are charged with Murder.
Evidence would suggest that the deceased was engaged in a marijuana drug transaction at the time he was shot. The shooting took place in the Washington Ave Extension area of Hyannis.
The two suspects were arrested in the parking lot of the Cuddles and Bubbles Hotel on Main Street, Hyannis after entering a car driven by two seventeen year old girls.
In addition, three other people are under arrest for trafficking heroin who were in the hotel room from which the two charged in the shooting emerged. A quantity of heroin has been seized.
The investigation continues by Barnstable Police and the State Police Detectives assigned to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office.

UPDATE — 11:00AM — The following is a statement from the Cape & Islands District Attorney:
Chief Paul MacDonald, Barnstable Police and District Attorney Michael O’Keefe announced today that at 2:00 am in the Washington Ave Extension area of Hyannis, a David Anthony Colon, 19 years old, of Hyannis, was shot while in a car during an apparent marijuana drug sale. Other passengers in the car drove Colon to Cape Cod Hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:50 a.am. The shooting is under investigation by Barnstable Police and State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.

HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING — Check back for updates throughout the day…]
At about 2:25AM, Barnstable Police received a call from Cape Cod Hospital Security saying that someone had shown up to the ER with a gunshot wound.
Police arrived and immediately secured the emergency room and parking area of the hospital.
A car, possibly the one that transported the victim to the hospital, was taped off right in front of the ER as a crime scene…
Sources report the man was shot in the head and the situation looks grave.
Police interviewed individuals at the hospital and were able to locate the likely scene of the shooting across town on Washington Ave…
A section of Washington Ave was taped off as a crime scene between Birch Street and Charles street…
Police were still looking for a shooter and a K-9 was called in…
HN first showed up at the hospital and took footage, and then went directly to the crime scene and shot video there…
A HN camera was rolling when patrolmen and a detective located a handgun on the ground in a driveway on Charles Street, about 50 to 60 yards from the scene. The gun could very well turn out to be a murder weapon… and police treated the scene where the handgun was found as such…
Footage also shows an infrared security camera across the street from where the gun was located…
UPDATE: Sources tell HN that the handgun found near to the scene is a .380 caliber pistol and that just one shot was fired. Also, the investigation is being handled by Massachusetts State Police Detectives and Barnstable Police Detectives.
