[BREAKING NEWS] K9 chomps fugitive…
Hyannis – At approximately 11am Detective Kevin Connolly spotted a man heading away from a residence on Thornton Drive.
According to police radio chatter the man had a warrant for his arrest.
Shortly after telling dispatch he was following the individual, the suspect spotted Detective Connolly and fled into the woods.
Multiple Barnstable Police Cruisers, including Officer Sean Roycroft and his K9 Rocky responded to area of the chase.
The fleeing man was quickly apprehended by K9 Rocky on an undeveloped side street near the woods adjacent to Thornton Drive.
Apparently the suspect received at least one significant dog bite while being taken into custody.
Officers requested Hyannis Rescue meet the cruiser transporting the wounded suspect at Barnstable Police Headquarters.
Rescue workers placed the suspect onto a stretcher and transported him to CC Hospital….
