BUS STATION ATTACK: 68-year-old punched repeatedly by 63-year-old drunk… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – According to the 68-year-old victim, he had just boarded a bus on his way home to Harwich when a drunk also boarded and started harassing people at the transportation center Wednesday evening.
When the drunk started to harass a female passenger, the 68-year-old took a stand and told the bus driver he was going to call police. That’s when the drunk began to attack, grabbing the senior citizen by the shirt and repeatedly punching him as they moved toward the exit.
A bus station security guard was nearby and also saw what had happened. He did a good job keeping things calm while police responded…
The victim was not injured, but more outraged at his attacker’s audacity and remained at the scene as his bus ride home left the station. He told HN he was determined to see his attacker go to jail.
A HN camera was rolling as police arrived and took the belligerent drunk into custody.
According to Barnstable Police Sergeant Sean Sweeney, Jules Lussier, age 63, was charged with the felony of Assault and Battery on a Person Over Age 60. Lussier also had 3 outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest. Lussier is no stranger to local police and officers are also seeking mental health services for the suspect.
The 68-year-old victim, now survivor, made arrangements for a friend to come give him a ride.
