CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Good Samaritans rush to help man cross busy intersection…
HYANNIS – Traffic came to a standstill as motorists and bystanders rushed to help a man safely across the busy intersection of North Street and Stevens Street this afternoon.
Police were already heading to the area after receiving a report of an intoxicated man walking in the roadway. Police also believed the man to be a possible suspect from a previous call, where a woman felt threatened by a suspicious man with a knife outside of a local sandwich joint.
As you will hear in the following video, the man turned out not to be intoxicated, but suffering the effects of a recent stroke…
… but the point is that people quickly stopped to help.
It’s what HyTonians do.
