COPS: Drunken driver crashes jeep into river… swims ashore… flees on foot… and fights police officer…

Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a Jeep in the water of Parker’s River late last night. The suspect swam ashore, fled on foot, and was encountered by Officer Justin Haire a short distance down the road.
The suspect was verbally abusive and fought with Officer Haire. The r…esistance was overcome and he was placed under arrest for several charges including drunken driving and resisting arrest.
He will be arraigned in the Barnstable District Court today.
