COPS: Drunken driver crossed line and struck another vehicle… [VIDEO]
OSTERVILLE – It was a scary scene for accident victims last evening.
Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Rescue evaluated three victims for injuries and fortunately did not need to transport anyone to CCH.
Police contend the driver of the maroon Lincoln LS left his marked lane and struck another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on South County Road in Osterville last night at about 8:20pm.
The maroon Lincoln LS came to a stop about 200 feet from the initial point of impact. It’s front end was heavily damaged and unable to continue further. It’s uncertain whether the driver voluntarily stopped… or not…
When the driver of the maroon Lincoln LS allegedly failed several field sobriety tests, Barnstable Patrolman Carl Hill placed him in custody for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol.
Delton Stanley, the driver of the Lincoln LS, has been no stranger to local law enforcement in recent years. Stanley, age 41, is from the Hyannis area. After tonight’s accident Delton Stanely was charged with OUI, Operating to Endanger, and a Marked Lanes violation.
Stanley asked the passengers of the other vehicle if they were alright. They fortunately were able to reply they were alright after all, after they refused further treatment from rescue workers.
