Crash and rollover after traveling 80 MPH in a 35… [UNBELIEVABLE VIDEO]
BARNSTABLE – The driver in this violent Route 6A crash and rollover miraculously walked away uninjured, but was then given a field sobriety test and arrested for OUI and Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle.
At about 1:45am, Yarmouth Patrolman Sean Geary was sitting in a quiet bank parking lot along Route 6A when all of a sudden his radar lit up and registered 80 MPH as a vehicle flew by toward the nearby Barnstable town line.
Geary began to follow, but the gray VW was already long gone and out of sight.
Moments later Barnstable Police received a call about a single car crash near the intersection of Route 6A and Bone Hill Road.
A telephone pole had been taken out at the base, with a ten foot section landing in someone’s front yard about a block away. The remainder of the pole and wires remained intact and was hanging as if it were still attached to the ground.
Down the road, in the direction of the crash, just past where the section of pole landed, a solid oak tree had some chunks missing about four feet off the ground. It appeared as if the VW was airborne when it hit the tree…
The VW was on it’s roof further on down the road.
Neighbors went outside their homes after being awakened by the loud crash, and were now staring in disbelief..
Disbelief because the driver walked away with hardly a scratch. Rescue had already been looking into the availability of Medflight helicopter before realizing the driver was safe and sound.
The crash scene was littered with beer and liquor bottles. The driver taken into custody.
According to Sergeant Cabral of the Barnstable Police, Timothy Lavallee, age 21, of Barnstable, was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence, and Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle.
Lavallee reportedly realizes he is very lucky to be alive today. He had seen the Yarmouth Police cruiser and continued speeding in attempt to make it home without being caught.
Yarmouth Patrolman Geary will also be issuing Lavallee a citation for speeding…
The following video highlights the crash scene… it also goes back to the general area where Lavallee was clocked doing 80 MPH in a 35… [Available in 1080p HD… Press play… select HD in settings…]
