CRASH: Police car and hot wing delivery vehicle… both drivers transported to CCH for evaluation… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – At about 2:45PM, during a steady rainfall, a Barnstable Patrolman was responding to a call when there was a collision between his cruiser and a DJ’s Wings delivery vehicle near the intersection of Bearses Way and Chestnut Street…
The impact caused airbag deployment in both vehicles and the second Barnstable Patrolman on scene requested rescue…
The patrolman was alert and able to walk himself to an awaiting ambulance. His injuries did not appear to be severe and he was transported to CCH for further evaluation. The driver of the hot wing delivery vehicle was also transported by ambulance to CCH for evaluation.
A supervisor for the Barnstable Police Department arrived and began an investigation, as is the procedure in all cruiser related accidents… A member of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit also arrived to take photos…
Traffic was reduced to one travel lane until police investigated and tow truck drivers could remove the vehicles from the scene.
