HYANNIS – The driver told HN he only had the classic car for about a week.
At about 12:15PM, Hyannis FD responded to a fully involved car fire on Enterprise Road, just south of the intersection with Route 132 near the Cape Cod Mall…
The new owner of the 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass was driving along Enterprise Road when he suddenly lost his brakes and smelled something burning. He quickly pulled into the nearest parking lot. That’s when he observed the flames down near the driver’s side firewall…
Hyannis FD eventually knocked down the flames and overhauled the vehicle, giving it a thorough soaking so it wouldn’t catch fire again while being towed from the scene.
