CRASH: Two sent to CCH, another med-flighted with head trauma… [Video]
Marstons Mills – At 2:46am, a C-O-MM Fire Department rescue-engine and three ambulances rushed to Walnut Street – a side street off Race Lane – for a car that smashed into a tree…
Barnstable Police were already on scene treating a patient said to have serious head injuries…
According to a C-O-MM Fire press release, there was a total of three passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Two passengers were transported to Cape Cod Hospital, while a Med-Flight helicopter transported a third “multi-trauma” patient to Rhode Island Hospital…
…the med-flighted passenger was a young man, possibly in his twenties. His injuries are said to be “severe.”
A Barnstable Police accident reconstruction expert was called to the scene…
The temperature was approximately 15 degrees and there were large ice patches the entire length of the quiet side street…
But it’s still too early to tell the exact cause of the crash. However, one thing is apparent, speed was definitely a factor in its severity…
Barnstable Police are investigating…
