One year ago today, Valentines Day 2013, the HyannisNews.com pilot project began with modest goals. Millions of visits and page hits later, I’m proud to report success that far exceeds all predictions…
HyannisNews.com started out as an alternative news source for Hyannis, Cape Cod, and the Greater Hyannis region.
Our goal was to promote stories not found anywhere else.
Our belief being HyannisNews.com readers deserve a truthful look into what’s really going on here in “HyTown,” the hub of Cape Cod…
We enjoy sharing “good” news, but we do not shy away from reporting the stark realities, issues, and problems that our readers need to know about.
Our philosophy is that the truth is the best disinfectant… which means we cannot fix our problems without first knowing they exist.
HyannisNews.com was founded February 14, 2013 by Robert Bastille, a native of Hyannis, writer, and photojournalist…
The HyannisNews.com facebook page just started on December 18, 2013. A twitter page soon followed…
HyannisNews.com continues to grow at a rate which far exceeds expectations. Our stories have been viewed both locally and across the country…
Hyannis News photos, video footage, and information have been featured on the following news sources and programs:
WBZ Channel 4 News,
WCVB Channel 5 News,
WHDH Channel 7 News,
FOX 25 NEWS,
Infowars.com,
NECN,
Photographyisnotacrime.com,
Cape Cod Times,
Coast to Coast AM (coasttocoastam.com),
WLVI Channel 56 News,
WSBK Channel 38 News,
and others…
Not bad for the first year!
As Hyannis News takes a brief break for retooling and research, please take time to bookmark and read past stories. We will continue to make current and archived stories available during our down time… Unlike other news sources we are free and do not charge for a subscription.
Our goal is to always keep the site free for all to enjoy.
Also, in the meantime, you may see the occasional sporadic news brief or photo appear on the site for those stories accidently stumbled upon during our hiatus, the ones too good not to share…
For example, there’s this incident that occurred while this was being written (Police and Hyannis Rescue rushed to Stevens Street for a man who had just been struck by a car… he was initially reported to be unresponsive… medflight was 25 minutes out and rescue workers opted to transport to CCH… [Press play]
So, feel free to check back from time to time, because one never knows...
Our basic mission:
It's the goal of HyannisNews.com to continue providing compelling eye-opening and informative stories.
We believe a good photo is worth far more than a thousand words. HyannisNews.com is committed to providing 'broadcast quality' stills, video, and information which gets to the heart of the matter.
Thank you for taking a bold look into the stark realities of HyTown, a developing city by the sea... A special historic township struggling to overcome and rectify the problems of misguided vision, poverty, crime, and poor planning.
We now have seen Hyannis at its worst; we fondly remember it at its best; an informed community is empowered to decide which direction it wants to take from this point forward.
So, here's the good news: thanks to a very positive reception from you, the readers, Hyannis News will be back up and running on full throttle starting April 1, 2014!
Again, thank you for reading HyannisNews.com and stay tuned!
