FLASH: Stabbing in Centerville, three sent to CCH… [VIDEO]
Centerville – Police and COMM rescue rushed to 797 Old Stage Road at about 8:30pm for a large fight and stabbing where three were sent to Cape Cod Hospital…
Update 3/10/14 11am — The details surrounding this incident are still unfolding… the Cape Cod Times are calling it a “knife fight…” they are also reporting that Joel Somer, 29, of Mashpee, counted as one of the injured, is being charged with two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon… sources at the Times are still following this incident… click here for CC Times coverage… As of yet, there has been no mention whether police have identified a possible second suspect… Hyannis News will also be providing updates as they become available.
Barnstable Police say the fight took place in the front yard of the residence…
Police located a knife on the ground, as well as other evidence related to the disturbance, on the side of the road across the street near the entrance to Rolling Hitch Road…
Initial officers on scene were looking for a suspect dressed all in dark clothing who reportedly fled toward the rear of the property near the garage… Dispatch cautioned he may have been armed with a gun…
Patrolman Jeff Jackson and his K-9 partner Elvis quickly hit the ground and searched…
Three ambulances from the Hyannis and COMM fire departments responded to the scene and attended to the wounded…
One patient had a serious stab wound and medics decided to quickly transport him to CCH after it was learned a MedFlight helicopter would take too long…
The other two patients reportedly had less serious injuries… one being another stab wound to the arm.
A police supervisor called for “I.D. work” in an effort to identify who had touched the knife and other evidence discovered at the scene. A Barnstable County crime scene investigator carefully documented and photographed. The knife and other items were placed in brown paper evidence bags.
Investigators were busy at CCH, as well as the crime scene, and other undisclosed locations… gathering statements and working leads.
The actual condition of the stabbing victim is unknown at this time… however, three hours after the incident a police source told Hyannis News it was likely he would survive.
