Creating a disturbance…; plus a two-week-old not breathing!
Hyannis – Police had to track down and capture an intoxicated woman who was walking up and down Main Street creating a disturbance and upsetting locals.
After receiving complaints, including one from the JFK Museum, police combed the area and at first were unable to find the little disturber…
The woman is known to police and was eventually taken into protective custody… and given a much needed time out.
In other news:
Earlier this evening, Hyannis Rescue and Barnstable Police rushed to one of the apartments at 67 Sea Street for a two-week-old baby not breathing.

K-9 Patrol Officer Jeff Jackson was quickly notified in order to provide rapid response to the scene…
Meanwhile Officer David Downs was on the phone line with the young mother calmly providing EMD instructions for an infant not breathing or choking…
After tense moments Officer Jackson reported over the air that the mother had just got the baby breathing again. The baby actually started breathing just as he was arriving.
Hyannis News observed a young man arrive and quickly jump out of a vehicle in front of the apartment. He sprinted towards the apartment as someone else parked. The driver of the SUV quickly parked and also ran toward the apartment. It was a terrifying experience for everyone involved…
According to BPD Sergeant Dave Myett, incidents involving babies are always worrisome and it’s important to remain calm while trying to help. Myett seemed pleased with the way his officers performed and especially with the way things turned out.

In other news:
Hyannis Firefighters quickly arrived at the Clothesline Laundromat on Barnstable Road for a report of smoke in the building.

A witness on the street reported the smoke was pretty thick at first and that a lot of the smoke was gone before firefighters arrived.
Barnstable Road traffic needed to be briefly diverted…
According to Captain Farrenkopf, a dryer overheated and possibly caused some lint to burn off… the clothes in the dryer were overheated and caused a burning smell…
