DENNIS – Around 10:30 p.m. last evening, police and firefighters responded to a single vehicle crash into a utility pole on Route 28, in front of the Royal Palace Restaurant. The driver was eventually transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The utility pole was snapped and left leaning over the roadway, prompting police to close and detour traffic around a closed segment of Route 28. Eversource was called in to replace the pole. The Dennis Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
