SOUTH DENNIS – [DEVELOPING] – Shortly after 7:00 p.m. last evening, police from neighboring towns responded to Donnie Way to assist Dennis Police with some sort standoff. A Massachusetts State Trooper also assisted on scene, along with several members of the Cape Cod Regional SWAT TEAM…
It reportedly was some type of domestic disturbance that escalated to the point of there being a man barricaded in the basement of the home. According to radio transmissions, the barricaded man reportedly told officers that the situation wasn’t going to end well.
Almost an hour into the ordeal (after speaking with a trained negotiator from the Yarmouth PD), a man came out with his hands in the air. He was then handcuffed and transported to the Dennis Police Department for booking.
The situation had ended peacefully.
HN Note: Because this was said to be a domestic related incident, additional details were unavailable at the time of this report. Details in domestic related arrests may be released after the arraignment. Also, HN did not catch the initial call and therefor am not completely clear about details leading up to the standoff.
