YARMOUTH – Initial reports were that a man was stabbed and his guts were hanging out… and that he was trying to hold them in.
It sounded extremely serious and gruesome… possibly a potential homicide…
At about 7:10pm last evening, Yarmouth Officers surrounded a house at 18 Mars Lane. A middle-aged man had already been rushed to CCH, seriously wounded in the abdomen…
Police made telephone contact with the occupants and had them exit the building one-by-one… The occupants were told to approach the cruiser that had its lights activated, where they were handcuffed until the scene was secured.
The occupants of the home all turned out to be witnesses. They were reportedly covered with blood. Police removed the handcuffs and transported them back to Yarmouth Police Headquarters where the investigation continued.
Police say their main suspect had already left the scene prior to their arrival.
The victim was said to be possibly in his 50s. He underwent emergency surgery at CCH and was said to be in stable condition at the time of this report.
During the investigation, Barnstable Police provided mutual aid and responded to at least one separate emergency call on Rosemary Lane until the YPD could free up resources. Police were very busy with serious calls that all seemed to happen at around the same time…
The occupants from the crime scene at 18 Mars Lane were apparently intoxicated when the crime took place. All witnesses appeared to middle-aged…
