“Dog Man” locates unconscious driver… [Video]
Barnstable – Police and rescue workers rushed to a secluded pond-side briar thicket along Attucks Lane this afternoon for an unconscious man slumped over the wheel of a white Mazda.
A popular dog trainer, Joe “The Dog Man” Yukna observed the vehicle suddenly swerve across an oncoming traffic lane, through thick brush, stopping just short of entering the pond.
Joe alerted 911 and went to help, where he observed a man slumped over the wheel.
Barnstable Police Sergeant Mike Riley arrived moments later and was able to force entry into the vehicle.
Rescue found a dirt access road and transported the unidentified male to Cape Cod Hospital where he is reportedly in critical condition. One source reported the driver had been in cardiac arrest since the arrival of first responders.
Barnstable Police are investigating and it’s uncertain whether a medical condition actually caused the crash.
Other details were not readily available and Hyannis News will provide updates as they become available.
One thing is for certain, the accident may have gone unnoticed if not for Joe “The Dog Man.”
