DRIVER CHARGED W/ ILLEGAL QUANTITY OF MARIJUANA DURING HYANNIS TRAFFIC STOP [HN PHOTOS]
HYANNIS, Massachusetts – [HN PHOTO NOTES] – The driver of an unregistered/uninsured Mercedes-Benz was having his vehicle towed when a Barnstable Police patrolman discovered a suspicious quantity marijuana, according to sources. The occupants of the Mercedes were said to be visiting from out of town, a story which reportedly checks out. The problem was not so much the marijuana per se but rather the exceptionally large quantity of it. The driver was initially detained in the back of a police cruiser as officers continued to investigate. He was eventually released with a citation for the motor vehicle charges and will be summoned to court on the criminal Possession with Intent to Distribute charge. The driver and the other occupants were picked up from stop by friends. The Benz was towed and impounded until it can be made road legal again. The weed was seized as evidence…
