HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN photo notes] – At around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening – 9/24/2025 – police and firefighters responded to the intersection of Sea Street and Oak Neck Road for an e-bike rider down in the roadway, badly injured and possibly unconscious.
Paramedics were speaking with the middle-age man when HN arrived on scene. The e-bike rider had just suffered a head injury… and an inquiry was made about the availability of a Medflight helicopter. Medflight was not flying at the time due to weather conditions. The patient was carefully lifted onto a stretcher and transported to Cape Cod Hospital. His current condition is unknown, other than he was able to speak with the Hyannis FD ambulance crew prior to being transported.
The expensive e-bike had minor damage and was brought back to Barnstable Police Headquarters for safe keeping. Witnesses helped confirm there were no other vehicles involved.
The man was not wearing a helmet, sources say.
