FALMOUTH MAN ACCUSED OF DRUNK DRIVING AFTER TAKING OUT POWER, CLOSING RTE. 130 FOR 11 HOURS
SANDWICH, Massachusetts – [Sandwich PD Media Statement] – A 33 year old man is facing OUI charges after crashing his pickup truck into a utility pole on Route 130.
At approximately 7:36 p.m. [last evening], Officers from the Sandwich Police Department responded to a single motor vehicle crash in the area of 374 Route 130. Upon arrival, Officer’s learned that a 2015 GMC Sierra collided with a utility pole. No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. After an investigation, Evelerado Braga, 33, of Falmouth was arrested for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, OUI Liquor, and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Braga is scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court today.
The damage to the utility pole caused power outages in the area. This portion of Route 130 was closed for 11 hours while work was conducted to restore power.
