[FPD MEDIA STATEMENT] Armed Robbery
At approximately 9:06 pm on December 18 a man displayed a gun and fired a single shot into the attendant booth at Excel Gas & Repair, 94 East Falmouth Highway. The suspect fled on foot with approximately $200 in cash. Nobody was injured in this incident.
The investigation remains ongoing. No further information is available at this time.

INITIAL HN REPORT & VIDEO:
EAST FALMOUTH – Shortly after 9pm last evening, Falmouth police responded to the Excel gas station (also known as Johnny’s) at 94 East Falmouth Highway for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. The first officers on scene located a live round and reported that the scene appeared to be a firearm involved robbery.
As you will see and hear in the following HN Video which contains some of the actual police radio transmissions, the footage shows investigators and a member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit combing through shattered glass, eventually finding a piece of evidence (not yet officially identified) that appeared to be the approximate size of a spent pistol caliber slug, or bullet. HN asked a police source on scene if a firearm was discharged during the robbery and he indicated that it appeared so… but nothing has been officially confirmed at the time of this report [DEVELOPING]
According to an early radio transmission, the suspect was described as being a white male, wearing a black and white mask, and a black jacket…
Investigators also took photos of footprints where the suspect may have fled from the scene… [DEVELOPING]
The Falmouth Police Department is in charge of the investigation which is active and ongoing at the time of this report. HN will provide official updates as soon as they become available.
