Female motorcyclist struck by vehicle making illegal turn… suffered severe compound fracture and blood loss… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – A witness immediately rushed to the victim’s aid and attempted to stop the bleeding… likely preventing things from becoming much worse than they already were.
One of the first patrolmen to arrive announced a motorcyclist had been struck… that she had an “open” leg fracture…
At about 3:20PM, Barnstable Police and Hyannis Rescue rushed to the intersection of Route 28 and Corporation Road after a collision between a Volvo and a motorcycle.
As you will see in the following video, and according to a source, the Volvo had been making an illegal left hand turn when the collision occurred.
The female motorcyclist was conscious and able to speak with first responders. She was transported to CCH, although a Medflight helicopter was also an available option if needed…
Her injuries were described a serious, but not life-threatening – thanks to the immediate efforts of witnesses, police, and firefighters…
The accident is being investigated by the Barnstable Police.
