FOOT CHASE: Officer runs down and captures fleeing male… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, a Barnstable Patrolman suddenly came on the radio announcing he was in a foot chase.
The chase began on North Street in the area of the Salvation Army, and continued behind a building and then back out onto North Street where the officer was able to take the fleeing male suspect into custody in front of the Portside Tavern.
A second male decided not to flee when the first suspect began running. Officers eventually spoke with and searched the second male, who was not arrested.
According to a source, the chase reportedly began after the officer observed what looked to be a drug transaction.
The fleeing male was placed under arrest and transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking. The suspect’s identity and exact charges remain uncertain at the time of this report. [DEVELOPING]
