FRIGID CONDITIONS: YPD looking for driver who fled after crashing into tree…
YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police were out searching in frigid conditions for a man who drove his car into a tree and took off on foot, according to a local resident who reported the accident after hearing it from inside of his home.
At about 8:24PM last evening, officers began searching the area of Winslow Gray Road and Wedgemere Road for a white male who was described as being 6’1” tall.
Officers were concerned the driver may had suffered injuries and was out wandering disoriented in the bitter cold. At the time of the crash the temperature was approximately 16 degrees Fahrenheit.
A Yarmouth Police K-9 unit was also deployed in the area…
The driver was not located.
Upon further investigation, an officer located a driver’s license inside the wreck which they believe likely belongs to the actual driver.
The heavily damaged Honda was towed from the scene the crash remains under investigation by the Yarmouth Police…
