HIGH SPEED CRASH SCENE: Two vehicles fly into separate ditches… officers respond to report of person in the roadway… three taken to CCH… [HN VIDEO]
CENTERVILLE – [DEVELOPING] – First off, thankfully nobody was too seriously banged up from this two vehicle crash which ended up sending three people to CCH.
As you will see in the following HN Video, shortly after 12:00 a.m. this morning, officers responded to Route 28 in the area of Cottage Lane for a report of a crash with injuries… with one person laying in the roadway.
According to sources, the female passenger laying in the roadway may have been suffering some type of allergic reaction. A young man, who was also in the same vehicle, removed all of his clothes in an effort to cover her up and keep her warm. The temperature at the time of the crash was in the low teens.
One vehicle wound up in a ditch on one side of Route 28, narrowly missing some trees. The other vehicle jumped a guardrail and became embedded in ditch on the opposite side of Route 28.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged.
A witness estimated one of the vehicles may have been traveling “80 to 90 miles per hour.”
A total of three people were transported to CCH with injuries not believed to be life threatening (which is a miracle, judging from the circumstances…).
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Barnstable Police Department. HN will provide official updates as they become available.
On a side note, check out the solid work from the tow truck drivers who had to get creative in order to remove both vehicles from two separate very tough spots…
The following HN Video highlights the entire crash scene.
