HYANNIS – A mom and her young child were checked out by Hyannis Rescue after taking out a light pole on High School Road shortly before midnight last evening. A trip to the hospital wasn’t necessary. The light pole, on the other hand, was toppled over and shattered into pieces. The driver (the mom) did not show any obvious signs of impairment. The Dodge Charger was a rental vehicle, according to radio transmissions. The driver and child were given a ride home by friends. The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
