HN SHOCK VIDEO: Drunken hit and run suspect nearly runs down...

UPDATE – 9/21/2018: According to documents filed in Barnstable District Court (see court documents below), Christian Neira Calle, age 23, of Hyannis, was charged with OUI-Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage, and a Marked Lanes Violation.

Christian Neira Calle was held overnight in BPD custody and bailed out after his arraigned this morning in Barnstable District Court and his Pretrial Herring is scheduled for October 15, 2018.

HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – As you will see in the following HN SHOCK VIDEO, a drunken hit and run suspect drove toward and refused to stop for a Barnstable Cop who had to think quick to get out of the way.

You will also see HN Dashcam footage of a brief pursuit which ended with the officer confronting the suspect all by himself as fellow officers scrambled toward the scene.

The HN Footage shows the driver was obviously impaired as he was placed under arrest… and he is likely facing a litany of criminal charges this morning. Please check back for official updates later in the day…

The officer was not hurt.

The hit and run crash victim was not injured despite her vehicle being heavily damaged. She had been driving the vehicle which was struck from behind before the suspect allegedly fled the scene in his pickup truck.

The hit and run accident happened shortly after midnight near the intersection of Route 132 and Phinney’s Lane.
