HOUSE FIRE: Started in boy’s room… family of four evacuated just in time… [VIDEO]

HYANNIS – DEVELOPING – The following video highlights the scene of a house fire at 325 Megan Road at about 11:00PM last evening.
Early sources say the fire appears to have started inside of a window air-conditioning unit in one of the rooms for the boys. (Note: the exact cause of the fire has yet to be officially confirmed by Hyannis FD)
The family was reportedly in bed at the time of the fire, according to one source at the scene.
The family had to rush to escape the flames. There was no time to grab or take anything with them… just the clothes they had on. They exited the home in just their pajamas and watched the flames from across the street.
The fire had reportedly quickly spread to other rooms inside of the home.
Firefighters quickly attacked outside flames, but then needed to focus on the ongoing fire inside of the home.
The neighborhood was filled with thick smoke when HN arrived just moments prior to FD. Neighbors in the area came out of their homes to investigate the smoke. Several neighbors were relieved to learn everyone had escaped unharmed.
A direct neighbor to the fire, quickly evacuated her home just in case, bringing along one of her cats in a pet crate…
The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the family with temporary shelter…
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
