*** WATCH *** Juveniles were reportedly in an altercation at early morning single vehicle crash scene… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, at about 12:35 a.m., this morning, a Barnstable Police sergeant happened upon a single vehicle crash which had just occurred at the intersection of Route 28 and Bearses Way. The two occupants of the vehicle were both juveniles. Neither of the two were seriously hurt.
When HN arrived on scene, there was a group of additional juveniles, some rather animated and seemingly upset. According to sources, the group of juveniles came from a nearby residence about a block from the crash scene. It is believed the occupants of the crashed vehicle were somehow associated with that address.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, the sergeant reported there had been some type of altercation as he arrived on scene. The altercation was apparently over when HN arrived, just several youngsters still waving their arms around…
(… the little darlin’s)
Meanwhile, in neighboring Yarmouth, a police cruiser was sent to an address to deliver a message to the mother of the male juvenile driver. The mother was requested to respond to the scene.
In the end, the mother responded and took custody of her 17-year-old son. The additional group of juveniles on scene were eventually “cut loose” to return to the nearby address from whence they came. None of the teenagers were seriously hurt…
… which is the most important thing.
