*** WATCH *** Driver receives criminal citation after leaving car crashed on railroad tracks…
HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, Barnstable Police were investigating a vehicle which had crashed and become stuck on the railroad tracks at the intersection of Route 28 and Yarmouth Road early this morning. The driver of the vehicle did not remain on scene. Officers began searching the area, looking for the driver. After about 15 minutes, police received a silent 911 call coming from about a block away from the crash. The number that dialed 911 was registered to someone with the same last name of the person registered to crashed vehicle abandoned on the tracks. Officers conducted a brief area search, eventually encountering a man who was allegedly hiding in the woods. Officers believed the man was the driver, detaining him while they continued to investigate. Meanwhile, a tow truck had to monkey around for a bit in order to free the vehicle from being stuck.
The driver was issued a criminal citation for leaving the scene before being released to a couple who came to pick him up…
