Early morning single vehicle Hyannis crash… [HN PHOTO]
HYANNIS – It’s uncertain what caused a small pickup truck to leave the roadway and hit a tree early this morning. There were no skid marks and the young adult male driver showed absolutely no signs of impairment, according to sources on scene.
At about 2:46 a.m. this morning, Barnstable Police patrol units responded to Pine Street near the intersection with Main Street for a single vehicle crashed into a tree, with airbag deployment. The driver showed no signs of serious injury or impairment as he spoke with investigating officers, according to sources on scene. He was transported to Cape Cod Hospital as a precaution for an evaluation.
The pickup was registered to a nearby address in Hyannis and a concerned family member immediately responded to the scene, obviously very worried about the driver. The family member was assured the driver was okay as she recovered a work belt and some tools from inside of the truck.
The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
