HN PHOTO: Woman’s purse and computer stolen as she grabbed breakfast…

HYANNIS – Barnstable Police are investigating after a woman had her purse and computer stolen on Main Street, around 7:00 a.m. this morning. The thief somehow managed to gain access to her vehicle which was parked right in front of the restaurant where she was grabbing breakfast.

HN NOTE: Security tip for those visiting the downtown area… Even though you believe your car is locked up and secured, it’s a good idea to cover up valuables with some type of garment when you leave your vehicle parked in the downtown area… even if you’re just running into someplace quickly. Thieves are more likely to be tempted by valuables in plain sight. Also, there is really no time of day when it’s safe to assume your valuables are secure.

The investigating officer carefully gathered info and explained security measures to be taken asap. The matter remains under investigation. [DEVELOPING]
