HN PHOTOS: Firefighters save Hyannis home from hot day kitchen fire…

HYANNIS – Firefighters were able to quickly arrive and knock down a cooking fire that got out of control on Blackberry Lane this afternoon, shortly after 5:00 p.m..
According to Captain Jeffrey Huska of the Hyannis Fire Department, the damage was mostly contained to cabinets in the kitchen area and did not extend much further after a check into the ceiling above the stove.
A young family with children evacuated safely and there were no reported injuries. The family was eventually able to return back into their home after fans were used to clear away the smoke.
According to firefighters on scene, the most challenging thing about today’s fire was staying hydrated and healthy in the extreme heat.
