DEVELOPING OVERNIGHT: Three arrested for knocking over flower pots along Main Street, Hyannis… [HN PHOTOS]

HYANNIS – Three young men were arrested during the overnight for allegedly knocking over a number of flower pots on Main Street in the area of the village green.
Around 1:40 a.m. this morning, a Barnstable Police Patrolwoman radioed that she had just been advised by a passerby about three males maliciously knocking over planters.
Moments later the patrolwoman advised responding officers that she had caught up to the three suspects on Main Street near the village green.
When HN arrived, officers were speaking with three young men and a young woman on the front steps to the Village Green Apartments.
Upon further investigation, all three males were placed under arrest for allegedly maliciously destroying the planters and undoing the hours of work that went into them.
HN NOTE: A lot of people work incredibly hard to make our downtown area attractive for our visitors during these challenging times. These efforts especially mean a lot to the individuals who try to make their living running businesses in Hyannis. In turn, I believe our police officers are especially aware of the importance of maintaining a beautiful, family friendly environment in the downtown area, and it appears they are currently exercising zero tolerance for any type of wanton douchebaggery that interferes with the honest efforts that make our town a better place – as they should.
No further details available at the time of this report… and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
