HYANNIS – Around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, crews responded to a residence on Saint Catherine Ave for heavy fire showing on one side of the residence. Firefighters quickly knocked down the exterior flames as the battle continued inside the structure. In an interview with Captain Jeffrey Huska of the Hyannis FD, the nearby, fully staffed fire station being just blocks away from the scene contributed to successful firefighting efforts. Two residents, an older woman and an adult male, were both transported to Cape Cod Hospital for smoke inhalation. The Hyannis Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
The following HN Video begins with an interview with Captain Jeffrey Huska… it then shows firefighting efforts combined with actual emergency radio transmissions.
