HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] –
As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, Barnstable Police patrol officers scrambled toward a volatile domestic disturbance at an address in Hyannis early this morning. There was a report by a mother (it was later learned that it was the suspect’s girlfriend who called) that her adult “son” was threatening his girlfriend with a knife. The son allegedly wanted someone’s pocketbook, according to radio transmissions.
The first patrol officers on scene put out a description of the suspect who had just left the scene wearing a black winter coat with a fur collar. Officers on scene were also able to quickly establish that there was probable cause to arrest the young man.
A K9 track covered a large section of Hyannis until officers finally caught up to the suspect, taking him into custody. Officers radioed that there was [a K9] deployment and Hyannis FD Rescue was called to the scene.
The suspect was placed onto a stretcher and transported to Cape Cod Hospital under arrest. A Barnstable Police patrol unit followed the ambulance in order to maintain custody.
It was a dangerous domestic violence call and no further details are being released at the time of this report. The following HN Video highlights an organized police response and capture of a suspect reported to be out of control at the time of the call…
