UPDATE: D.A. CONFIRMS MALE SHOOTING VICTIM HAS DIED…
[MEDIA STATEMENT] Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Mashpee Police Chief Scott Carline announced the following:
On July 20th at approximately 11:30 pm Mashpee Police responded to a shots fired call in the vicinity of Collins Lane, Mashpee. A male subject was found to have sustained apparent gunshot wounds and has died as a result.
Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Mashpee Police Officers are investigating. Assisting are crime scene services personnel from the
State Police.

MASHPEE – [DEVELOPING] – The call came in around 11:35 p.m. last evening regarding a man down with multiple gun shot wounds in the area of 26 Collins Lane, to the rear of the Mashpee Baptist Church. Two suspects, a male and a female, were said to have just fled into the nearby woods. Medflight was not available and the patient was transported to CCH, reportedly in cardiac arrest. Two Barnstable County Sheriffs K9 units arrived quickly and went into the woods after the alleged suspects. As you will see in the following HN Video, both a male and female were taken into custody. The male suspect was reportedly bitten while being detained.
As of 3:30 a.m., the scene is still very active, saturated with state police crime scene resources and detectives… [DEVELOPING]
* All suspects are presumed to be innocent until charged with a crime and found guilty in a court of law…
