Police squad cars and Hyannis Rescue rushed to a neighborhood off Bearses way…
There was an episode between a mother and a son involving a knife…
One of the first officers on scene confirmed that the mother had a laceration…
The son reportedly left the scene…
Squad cars scrambled and located the son in a vehicle in front of the Community Youth Center…
The son was taken down and handcuffed after a well attended traffic stop…
It was then the details started to come together…
It turned out the mother had been trying to prevent her son from harming himself with the knife.
The son was transported back to the scene where he was evaluated and transported to CCH for further evaluation and care…
The mother was transported in a separate ambulance with a bandaged hand…
Due to the nature and sensitive subject matter, the identities of both patients have been left out of this report.
Rather this report is meant to explain the hectic commotion that unfolded in front of the busy Hyannis youth center. The report is also meant to show the daily challenges facing our police and rescue workers…
